Where our information comes from
We keep a record of the policy and version we checked, who can buy it, which running activities it covers, important limits, where we found the information and when it was checked.
How we check a policy
- Write down the race details. We note where the runner lives, the destination, distance, terrain, altitude, whether the race is timed and why they are travelling.
- Use official documents. We check the current policy, cover table, activity list and written answers from the provider.
- Pull out the relevant points. AI can help organise information and flag contradictions, but it does not decide what a policy covers.
- Check the conditions. A person reviews important points and any limits before publication.
- Say when the answer is unclear. We do not fill gaps with guesses.
- Check for updates. Comparison pages are checked at least every 90 days and when we learn that a policy has changed.
How AI is used
AI helps us search documents, organise information, spot differences, draft pages, connect related guides and notice changes. It does not give personal insurance advice, invent experience or replace a person’s check of comparisons that may earn us money.
Payments do not decide the result
A provider cannot pay to enter a comparison or move up the order. If we may earn money from a link, we label it before you click.
Corrections
Readers and providers can report something that may be wrong or out of date through the corrections page. We date important corrections and update our record of the policy.
